We are being told to expect a rollercoaster full of ups and downs during this process but it emotionally is still very hard on the down days. Keith’s lungs continue to be the pressing issue and the doctors have decided to try draining the fluid directly by putting in chest tubes and giving his kidney’s an assist by starting him on dialysis tonight. Adding multiple new interventions was difficult on Michelle today but we keep reminding her that everyone still believes he has an excellent chance for recovery. We are also being told that a 6-8 week ICU stay is very common in situations like this. Just seeing the long road ahead is a bit overwhelming for Michelle and the boys right now. We continue to be so thankful for all the love and prayers holding the family up. I know so many of you have reached out to me asking how else you can help. I will have more information on that tomorrow. For now our prayers are that the he responds to the new lung treatments.
